The following stitch
could be used to embroider small flowers. Each petal consists of 3 lazy daisies
stitched close to each other.
Embroider the first lazy daisy, on the left.
Rather than holding down the loop on the same
point, enter the fabric at point A (this will be the tip of the flower).
Stitch another lazy daisy in the middle and
enter at the same point, A.
This is the last stitch and one petal is made.
This is how the flower looks like. Each petal
measures less than 1cm in length.
Updated : This stitch can also be seen in Lakshmi's blog. She calls this, Chemanthi Stitch. This is her link-

Shami Immanuel.
madam what you have called a flower stitch or chemanthi is nothing but crysanthemum flower in telugu.the look is attained by stitching exactly in a circle without seperating it into petals. the kadai kamal flower is done in the same way as the leaf but only four or five leafs considering as five petals and some flat bead as the center. forgive me if you already knew. thank you very much for the wonderful site
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info.
